THE BIG SURPRISE: The blizzard. Three days before the wedding Theresa, Savannah mother, new they needed a Plan B and decorated the Chadron Arts Center the night before while the blizzard was still manageable. They thought they had everything covered. NOT. Saturday morning, the day of the wedding, the beautician called and said she was snowed in and could not make it. Then, more friends and family called and said they were stranded. Creative Dining Services called and said they were short on staff and couldn help with any of the food, china, wine and water goblets, silverware or linens. They were only able to make the food items and have a few family members pick it up. Other family members were tasked with a search for plastic plates, silverware and napkins. The wedding started an hour later than expected, yet with everything going against this couple, they persevered and had an amazing wedding in spite of the blizzard and had the best time. This was surely a wedding to talk about for years to come.
