One myth addressed by the American Academy of Dermatology is that ultraviolet rays are safe rays. Sunlight consists of ultraviolet A (UVA) rays and ultraviolet B (UVB) rays. UVA rays suppresses the immune system's ability to protect against skin cancer; UVB rays are the primary cause of sunburn. Sunscreen lots of it!
